What does inverting colors do exactly?
Each pixel's red, green and blue values are replaced by their complement (255 minus the value). The result is a photographic negative; transparency is preserved because the alpha channel is not touched.
How do I invert an image for dark mode?
Invert the artwork, then adjust brightness if needed. For UI icons, inverting a black icon on transparent background gives you a white icon that works on dark surfaces.
Why does my inverted JPG look worse than the PNG?
JPG is lossy — after inversion you're re-encoding. Export as PNG to stay lossless, or raise the JPG quality slider.
Can I invert multiple images at once?
