PNG to JPG Converter

Drop PNGs, choose quality, get JPGs — or switch to wrapper mode if you just need the extension changed without touching a single pixel. Both camps served: the "smaller file, some loss" camp and the "don't you dare re-encode" camp.

FAQ

Does PNG to JPG reduce quality?

PNG is lossless; JPG is lossy. Re-encoding discards some data — at quality 0.9 the difference is invisible for photos, but sharp text and flat UI graphics can develop artifacts. Use wrapper mode if the file must stay pixel-identical.

What happens to transparency?

JPG has no alpha channel. Transparent areas are flattened onto a background color you choose (white by default) — the tool shows a preview before you download.

Is lossy compression "cheating"?

Two schools exist: the re-encode camp (file size is real, quality loss is usually invisible) and the preservation camp (never throw away data). This tool offers both modes so you decide per file.

Why did my PNG colors change after conversion?

Usually a color-profile issue: untagged PNGs are interpreted differently across apps since Photoshop 2025's color-managed pipeline change. See our guide on PNG color shifts.
