Split Image into Tiles

Drop an image, pick rows × columns (1–12 each), and get every cell as an individual PNG in one zip — named r1c1, r1c2… so reassembly is trivial. Odd dimensions are distributed pixel-exactly: no gaps, no overlaps, no half-pixel nonsense.

FAQ

How do I slice a photo for an Instagram grid?

3×3 or 3×1 are the classic choices. Upload, pick the grid, download the zip, and post the tiles in order (r1c1 first) — your profile shows the full image across posts.

What happens when the image doesn’t divide evenly?

The leftover pixels are handed to the first rows and columns — a 1000px image in 3 columns becomes 334 + 333 + 333, so every pixel is covered exactly once with no seams.

What are the tiles named?

r1c1.png, r1c2.png, r2c1.png… — row then column, starting at 1. The order matches reading order, so scripts and manual reassembly both stay sane.

Can I add overlap between tiles?

Not yet — V1 cuts exact grids (what map tiles and sprite atlases need). Overlap/margin is the first candidate on this tool’s roadmap; the control slot is already reserved.
