JPEG to ICO Converter

Same engine, same batch + zip — this page exists because half the world spells the extension .jpeg and searches accordingly. A .jpeg file is byte-for-byte the same JPEG format as .jpg; both decode identically here and become a multi-size .ico with a 6-byte directory plus embedded PNGs at 16/24/32/48/64/128/256 px. Default selection is 16+32+48+256. JPEG has no alpha channel, so icons are opaque — start from PNG if you need transparent corners.

FAQ

Which icon sizes should I include?

16, 32 and 48 cover Windows UI; 256 (stored as PNG) covers the taskbar and large views. That default quartet is what most favicon generators produce — we match it.

Why does my icon have no transparent corners?

JPEG doesn't support transparency. If you need rounded/transparent icons, start from a PNG with alpha and use the PNG to ICO converter instead.

Is .ico still needed in 2026?

For favicons, mostly no — modern browsers accept PNG. But Windows shortcuts, some Electron apps and legacy intranets still want a real .ico; generating one takes ten seconds here.
