GIF Resizer

Scale a whole GIF animation down for a forum upload or up for a presentation — every frame is resampled with bilinear filtering and the original frame delays and loop count are preserved exactly, so timing doesn't drift. GIF stores frames as a 256-color palette with LZW compression, so shrinking usually cuts file size roughly with the square of the scale (50% → ~25% the pixels); enlarging can't add detail and will look soft past ~150%. Percent mode (default 50%) keeps proportions; exact mode with aspect lock fits inside your box and pads with transparency.

FAQ

Will resizing change my GIF's speed?

No. Frame delays are copied through unchanged and the loop count survives the re-encode. If a resized GIF looks faster, the viewer is compensating for missing frames — not us.

Why does enlarging my GIF look blurry?

GIF frames are palette images; there is no hidden detail to recover. Enlarging past the original size interpolates and softens. For big displays, recreate the animation from source assets instead.

How do I make a GIF smaller for Discord/Twitter?

Use 50% percent mode. Pixel count drops to a quarter and LZW compression over the smoother result usually lands the file under platform limits — check the output size on the result card.
